THE LANGUAGE OF THORNS Wins 2018 Audie Award
The Audio Publishers Association (APA) announced the winners of the 2018 Audie Awards at its 23rd Annual Audies Gala on May 31 at the New-York Historical Society in New York City.
THE LANGUAGE OF THORNS by bestselling author Leigh Bardugo was honored with the win in the category of Short Stories/Collections.
Lauren has narrated both the SHADOW AND BONE trilogy and the SIX OF CROWS 'duet' as part of Bardugo's 'Grishaverse', and was thrilled to represent Leigh and the many passionate fans of her books at this year's Audies Gala.
Because she has a sewing background and a huge soft spot for this particular nomination, Lauren created custom fabric based on TLOT's beautiful book artwork, and handmade her Audie's outfit! For extra mojo, a special shout out to the book's engineers, Audible Studios' Kyle Willoughby and Michelle Figueroa, was tucked into the waistband.
Inspired by myth, fairy tale, and folklore, number one New York Times best-selling author Leigh Bardugo has crafted a deliciously atmospheric collection of short stories filled with betrayals, revenge, sacrifice, and love. Travel to a world of dark bargains struck by moonlight, of haunted towns and hungry woods, of talking beasts and gingerbread golems, where a young mermaid's voice can summon deadly storms, and where a river might do a lovestruck boy's bidding but only for a terrible price. Perfect for new listeners and dedicated fans, the tales in The Language of Thorns will transport you to lands both familiar and strange - to a fully realized world of dangerous magic that millions have visited through the novels of the Grishaverse.
